Last year we filled Tropicalia to the brim and this time we plan to do the same. We come with the Queen's deep cuts, the remixes, the features and the collaborators. Ayes Cold spins the music she wants to hear and works to forge spaces for open-minded DJs and producers who musically want more. She has lived in a lot of places and her selections reflect this transience. She aims to take you elsewhere, be it another decade, or continent.
Her sounds lean towards the experimental. expect hip hop and future beats, Jersey-Chicago-Baltimore club tunes and soulful sounds from across the globe. Expect diversity.
Spinning records in clubs since he was fifteen, Kerim harnessed his skills on the local reggae-club circuit in his hometown of Brooklyn, NY.
Kerim’s innovative style, influenced by his time as a percussionist has allowed him to move crowds of all creeds while showing off his unique skill set (which now includes an electronic drum he has configured for use with his DJ equipment). Known for his unpredictable selection, he has been spotted at a wide array of venues domestic and international alike.
Born in Arizona and raised in South Carolina, Charity Blackwell is a spoken word artist who is quickly making a name for herself in the DMV.
Charity is passionate about poetry, soccer, and youth development, and she remains involved in the D.C. spoken-word scene while she completes her first book of poems.
She recently began hosting first Mondays at Busboys and Poets-Brookland.
